Blog As A Tool?

I have commented lately on Pels Community website about the use of blog as one of the mediums in teaching students. It is in fact a simple tool that any average teacher who is not capable of understanding codes or html programming can easily use to boost learning outside of the classroom.

Although a weblog is basically text-based but with the existence of the widgets for blogs, it is now becoming more and more powerful as a tool in educating the young ones.

Some even commented in our mailing list that it has its advantages and disadvantages. Is that right? Oh well, every relatively new technology (but blog has been here for years already) for many will always be hard to accept especially for those not-so young educators out there.

Whatever the case maybe, my point is here is that, blog is just one of the touch points for students to learn things. I am looking more on the advantages of this technology than being skeptic about it (because of the disadvantages cited).

The possibility is endless when it comes to giving more options for kids to learn. It is like one of the yummy dishes being offered to the students to munch on their way out to better/higher learning.

Now, the question is, how are they (teachers) will learn to use this technology and be blog-savvy educators? I guess I better have to explain that in details next time because right now, I am busy trying to go up the ladder of the UK seocontest2008.

By the way, SEO is another thing that my fellow educators should learn I guess.
