I have a used but serviceable boat that’s just gathering dust in my stockroom. I have been thinking of selling it, but due to my busy schedule, I usually don’t have time to advertise and talk to buyers. Just the other day, a friend told me how he donated his old car to charity instead of selling it; he also told me that apart from the satisfaction of giving something to the less fortunate, the tax deductible from the donation made the act more than worth it. With his advice, I finally decided to donate my boat to charity.
At first, I thought that the whole process would be complicated and taxing that I almost backed out. But my friend recommended an online non-profit organization called Boat Angel which handled boat donations. I visited the organization’s website, and was pleased to find out that it supports several noteworthy causes that I myself believe in. I was also able to get in touch with some other people who donate boats through the org, and was happy to know that the organization was indeed as trustworthy as I had hoped. Thanks to Boat Angel, I was able to support some deserving advocacies and clear a bit of space in my stock room to boot.
